Chapter 16

Chantelle walked into the office, eyes downcast until she closed the door and greeted, “Good morning, ma’am. I’m here with the…”

She stopped in her steps when she saw the scene before her. There Vanessa was, sitting like the divine queen of her kingdom in her office-chair throne. She leaned back, one leg crossed over the other and hands folded in her lap. A black mask adorned her face, although it left plenty of room for her dark curls to be pulled up into a high ponytail that swooshed every time she turned her head.

Her jacket was completely unbuttoned, a sapphire blue camisole boosting her breasts toward her chin. Knee-high boots twirled with her feet as they danced in the air every time she switched which leg had the honor of being on top. Her gaze was focused and her games out in the open. Now was not the time for Chantelle to be shocked that her boss got up to some kinky shit around the compound.

For Vanessa was far from alone. She had a guest that day. One who sat on the floor by her chair, her collar cinched around her throat and a chain-link leash attaching her neck to one of Vanessa’s hands.

Oh, my God. What was this rush overcoming Mitch? She wasn’t ashamed, no, but it carried a hint of embarrassment that only invigorated her with more relentless lust. Looking Chantelle in the wide eyes made Mitch crawl closer to her mistress, who didn’t flinch as she tightened the leash and ran her hand over the reddish wig adorning her pet’s head. This is so hot, and I hate it.

Once Chantelle realized what she was looking at, she relaxed her shoulders and said with a snort, “I hope I’m not interrupting, but I’ve brought the morning report.”

“I was about to start work, but otherwise, there is nothing to interrupt.” Vanessa’s fingernail tickled the flesh behind Mitch’s ear. The mistress’s pet almost reeled backward from how this made her feel. “Don’t mind the new addition to my office. She won’t get in the way.”

“Right.” Chantelle could hardly contain the shit-eating grin threatening to overtake her whole face. Was she on the brink of laughter? At Vanessa, Mitch, or the both of them? Surely, she won’t laugh at my mistress. Mitch wouldn’t stand for such disrespect. It was a privilege to be allowed to sit in Vanessa’s office as she did her important work that morning. Mitch hadn’t raced back from her morning run with Luke to shower and get dressed for nothing. Certainly not for someone like Chantelle to laugh at something she could never understand.

Or maybe she did understand. Maybe that’s why she looked at them like this.

“There’s only one problem.” Chantelle refocused her professional attention on Vanessa, folder remaining close to her chest. The only person who could see the contents was her, the head of all technological security. I wonder if that includes all communication. If Luke oversaw the personnel, did that mean his wife
